El Niño, a Nativity Oratorio: John Adams at the Philharmonie de Paris
演出简介
Add new facets to your Christmas traditions. John Adams' and Peter Sellars' El Niño tells the Nativity story from unusual perspectives in this concert performance.
Although it follows the biblical story, El Niño takes its texts from a number of unusual sources including several Gnostic gospels from the Apocrypha, Martin Luther's Christmas Sermon, Hildegard von Bingen, and a wide range of modern writers and poets. A starry group of soloists includes several of those who premiered the work in 2000, and with the composer leading the London Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, as well as the Maîtrise de Radio France, this promises to be a very special seasonal event.
