Couperin, Rameau, Duphly: Pierre Hantaï, clavecin
О событии
The 18th century French harpsichord school dominated the whole Europe, despite the geniuses of Bach, Händel and Scarlatti. Couperin's work is a real universe in itself, with an incredible art of atmoshere and characterization. Rameau adds a new opulence of sound, pushing the limits of the instrument. As for Duphly, unjustly neglected, he throws the last and sumptuous fires of the art of the French harpsichord. Pierre Hantaï no longer has to demonstrate his affinities with this repertoire: alternately painter and sculptor, with a transcendent virtuosity that allows everything, he guides us into a sound universe with a thousand jewels.
