The Advent and Christmas concerts high above the roofs of the illuminated city of Salzburg are among the musical highlights of the Advent and Christmas season. The famous Salzburg Advent Ensemble, which plays a combination of strings and string music, will spoil you with musical treasures of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and other popular works of his contemporaries during Advent. The most popular works of classical music as well as the traditional Advent music from the Salzburger Land provide a unique musical evening high above the rooftops of the city.

The unique, atmospheric Advent concerts take place in the historical ambience of the Christmas decorated coat of arms hall or castle hall on the fortress Hohensalzburg. On weekends, the lovely and atmospheric Advent market on the fortress invites you to a visit before the concert. Or enjoy the atmospheric ambience of the Advent and Christmas stands on the panorama terraces of the restaurant with a breathtaking view of the Christmas decorated Old Town and its surroundings.

The 'Impressive Advent‐ and Christmas Concerts' can also be booked in connection with a romantic dinner directly on the fortress under 'Advent Concert & Dinner: Fortress Salzburg'.

Important information: The concert halls can be reached barrier‐free, with the exception of individual dates which take place in the Golden Hall.

The price includes the ride in the fortress funicular and admission to the fortress, from 1 hour before the concert begins.

The concert hall at Hohensalzburg Fortress is unfortunately not accessible for people with limited mobility. Visitors must ascend approximately 100 stairs to access the Golden Hall.
