Köpenick Palace

Köpenick Palace is a waterside Baroque building in Köpenick, Berlin, built in 1558 as a hunting lodge on the river island of a former Slavic castle. The Palace was home to royal figures including King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden and Frederick I and II of Prussia. The building is surrounded by a beautiful English-style park and has been used as an exhibition venue since 1963. Köpenick Palace now serves as Berlin's Museum of Decorative Arts, exhibiting decorative arts of the Rococo, Baroque and Renaissance periods, as well as a permanent exhibition called “RoomArt” and masterworks in interior design of the 16th and 18th century.
