Presenting a refined St. John Passion in Budapest in 2007, Philippe Herreweghe and the Collegium Vocale Gent now bring the St. Matthew Passion to the Spring Festival.

Herreweghe was awarded the Leipzig Bach Medal in 2010, the same year in which the Collegium Vocale Gent, a choir he founded, celebrated its 40th anniversary. Among other things, the choir established its world fame with productions of Bach compositions.
