Donizetti's tragic opera encompasses breathtaking music, vocal mastery, fragile beauty and insanity. The Canadian Opera Company presents Lucia di Lammermoor, featuring the stunning Anna Christy in one of opera's most difficult soprano roles.

Director David Alden delivers us to the darkly brooding world of Sir Walter Scott’s celebrated Gothic novel. A fragile young girl is mistreated and mishandled in a cruel, power‐driven society. She finds her release – once she severs all ties with reality and escapes into a fantasy world full of breathtaking cascading melodies and madness from the master of bel canto, Gaetano Donizetti.
