Iván Fischer, Budapest Festival Orchestra & Dmitris Sgouros
O wydarzeniu
Iván Fischer conducts the Budapest Festival Orchestra in a concert that spans from the German Romanticism of Weber to the 20th century expressionism of Prokofiev.
The concert opens with the overture to "Freischütz", Weber's three‐act masterpiece considered the founding work of German Romantic opera. Brahms' First Piano Concerto follows, performed by soloist Dmitris Sgouros. Prokofiev's Fifth Symphony closes the program. He took a little over a month to write it as the Second World War approached its climax in 1944.
