Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera: Dijon Opera
O wydarzeniu
It is a 19‐year‐old Mozart who here composed already his eighth lyric work! The libretto reserves the lion’s share to surprising – and improbable! – twists of fate, as is the manner of opera buffa.
It nonetheless allows the young composer a sort of trial run for 'Le nozze'. The ingredients that make for the subtlety of this crazy day already make their modest appearance: deception, volatility and ambiguity of sentiments, the perfect night to test the heart, forgiveness and reconciliation.
Musically, the young prodigy here takes full posession of his dramatic genius: richness and complexity of ensemble writing, which moves the action forward and shapes the characters, maestria in the contrast between comedy and drama, and transitioning from one to the other in an equivocal manner that suddenly expresses the true ambivalence of human feelings.
Discover this adolescent Mozart, already unique and still full of the unbridled fire and freshness that belongs only to youth!
