Dead Man Walking: Opéra de Montréal
Over het evenement
Opera de Montreal proudly presents a controversial premiere, both in the company and in the city of Quebec. Jake Heggie's opera is acclaimed worldwide and tells the true story of Sister Helen Prejean.
This true story inspired the Oscar‐winning film of the same name, and will come to the stage of the Opera de Montreal under the direction of celebrated Canadian stage director Alain Gauthier.
In his prison cell, inmate Joseph de Rocher awaits his final hour, abandoned by family and former friends. One brave woman boldly passes through the prison gates despite those trying to deter her. Sister Helen Prejean is a nun who cannot tolerate the idea of a man on death row without love or support around him.
Performed in English with English and French surtitles.
