聖マルコ英国国教会
サンマルコ聖公会は1881年に設立され、かつてマキャベリが所有していたネオ・ルネッサンス様式のメディチ邸内に建てられた。 外観はむしろ厳かだが、内部は豊かで目を楽しませてくれる。白大理石の壮大な祭壇の前のアーチには、華麗なベネチアン・ランプと真鍮の装飾が吊るされている。 今日、この教会はフィレンツェの文化生活に欠かせない存在であり、芸術と文化に対するイタリアの国民的評価にふさわしいものである。教会内にはオペラ団があり、定期的に人気の高い公演を行っている。この教会でオペラを見たり、クラシック音楽を聴いたりするのは、他では味わえない体験である。その構造上、観客は芸術家たちのすぐ近くに座ることができ、まるでショーの一部になったかのような幻想的な雰囲気を楽しむことができる。
