Carmina Burana: musikerlebnis Open Air

Lo spettacolo

At this year's opening concert, the festival "musikerlebnis Open Air '11" will present Carl Orff's popular work Carmina Burana.

Inspired by texts written during the Middle Ages, Orff found his own musical language for Carmina Burana; one that was not influenced by nostalgia and longing, as was typical for the Romantic period. Instead, Orff wrote a more simplified sensual music with strong rhythms and rich harmonies. Carmina Burana premiered with worldwide success in 1937 and has since been one of Orff's most popular works.

Enjoy this performance in the ideal open air location of the Munich Residence.
