Le Deutsche Oper Berlin présente "Turandot" de Giacomo Puccini dans une production de Lorenzo Fioroni.
La société vit dans la terreur de la princesse Turandot. Seul le mariage semble pouvoir mettre fin à la violence, mais aucun prétendant n'a réussi à résoudre ses énigmes et à gagner sa main. Chaque fois, la même scène se répète et se termine par une nouvelle exécution. Contre toute attente, Calaf, le fils d'un potentat exilé d'un pays lointain, rompt la chaîne de la brutalité.
Puccini a passé les quatre dernières années de sa vie à travailler sur "Turandot", en se basant sur la pièce de théâtre de Carlo Gozzi datant de 1762. Loin d'évoquer une Chine attachante et poupée, les tons exotiques de sa partition la plus riche et la plus dissonante nous présentent un monde imprégné d'une atmosphère de cruauté inconcevable.

Deutsche Oper Berlin is the biggest opera house in the German capital, and a member of the Berlin Opera Foundation established in the early 1900s. The original building was destroyed during the Second World War, but was eventually replaced, and the new theater opened in 1961 - six weeks after construction began on the Berlin Wall. Serving West Berlin, its sober, linear design avoids anything that might distract vistiors from the performance. The repertoire of the theater focuses on the great classics such as Mozart, Verdi and Strauss, but frequently presents contemporary opera as well. The Chorus of the Deutsche Oper has been named 'Chorus of the Year' many times for its outstanding performances.

Eine ausgezeichnete Aufführung: herrliche Besetzung und gutes Bühnenbild. Seit langem mal wieder in der Deutschen Oper gewesen — ab jetzt wird es öfter sein!
