Écoutez l'un des opéras les plus connus de Verdi, Nabucco, dans une production créée par Keith Warner pour le 200e anniversaire du compositeur.
Nabucco raconte l'histoire dramatique de l'asservissement des Israélites sous le joug babylonien du roi Nabuchodonosor. La production de Keith Warner se situe à l'époque où l'œuvre a été écrite, une période de transition entre le féodalisme et une société bourgeoise en voie d'industrialisation. Son interprétation se concentre sur les natures opposées de deux nations — les Hébreux modernes, dont la culture s'appuie sur une écriture et une éducation en tant qu'idéal démocratique, et les Babyloniens militaristes, dont le concept d'État est fondé sur un régime autocratique.
En langue italienne avec surtitres en allemand et en anglais.

Deutsche Oper Berlin is the biggest opera house in the German capital, and a member of the Berlin Opera Foundation established in the early 1900s. The original building was destroyed during the Second World War, but was eventually replaced, and the new theater opened in 1961 - six weeks after construction began on the Berlin Wall. Serving West Berlin, its sober, linear design avoids anything that might distract vistiors from the performance. The repertoire of the theater focuses on the great classics such as Mozart, Verdi and Strauss, but frequently presents contemporary opera as well. The Chorus of the Deutsche Oper has been named 'Chorus of the Year' many times for its outstanding performances.
