La Deutsche Oper de Berlín presenta "Turandot", de Giacomo Puccini, en una producción de Lorenzo Fioroni.
La sociedad vive aterrorizada por la princesa Turandot. Sólo el matrimonio parece capaz de acabar con la violencia, pero ningún pretendiente ha conseguido resolver sus enigmas y ganar su mano. Una y otra vez se repite la misma escena, que termina con una nueva ejecución. Contra todo pronóstico, Calaf, hijo de un potentado exiliado de un país lejano, rompe la cadena de brutalidad.
Puccini pasó los últimos cuatro años de su vida trabajando en Turandot, basándose en el cuento de Carlo Gozzi de 1762. Lejos de evocar una China entrañable, semejante a una muñeca, los tonos exóticos de su partitura más rica y disonante nos presentan un mundo impregnado de una atmósfera de crueldad inconcebible.

Deutsche Oper Berlin
Deutsche Oper Berlin is the biggest opera house in the German capital, and a member of the Berlin Opera Foundation established in the early 1900s. The original building was destroyed during the Second World War, but was eventually replaced, and the new theater opened in 1961 - six weeks after construction began on the Berlin Wall. Serving West Berlin, its sober, linear design avoids anything that might distract vistiors from the performance. The repertoire of the theater focuses on the great classics such as Mozart, Verdi and Strauss, but frequently presents contemporary opera as well. The Chorus of the Deutsche Oper has been named 'Chorus of the Year' many times for its outstanding performances.

Eine ausgezeichnete Aufführung: herrliche Besetzung und gutes Bühnenbild. Seit langem mal wieder in der Deutschen Oper gewesen — ab jetzt wird es öfter sein!
