Sala Terrena: Mozarthaus
Vienna, Austria
The Sala Terrena within the convent of the Deutsche Ritterorden is located in the historic center of Vienna, next to the Stephansdom and the Hofburg. The hall was built in the second half of the eighteenth century in late Renaissance Venetian style. The beautifully designed frescoes are an excellent ambience for enjoying music. Wolgang Amadeus Mozart himself lived in the convent in 1781. He performed several concerts there by order of Bishop Colloredo, one of the most important sponsors of the Mozart family.
