Gorges Ocloo, a multidisciplinary African artist, studied in Brussels and is currently an artist‐in‐residence at the LOD muziektheater in Ghent. His latest project, The Golden Stool, combines color, music, and dance with a fresh interpretation of pieces from Western musical tradition. Soprano Nobulumko Mngxekeza‐Nziramasanga and mezzo‐soprano Nonkululeko Nkwinti, alongside eight other talented women, showcase arias from iconic operas like Carmen and Rinaldo, as well as classical masterpieces such as Beethoven's Ode to Joy and The Blue Danube, infusing them with vibrant African sounds and rhythms.
