CHIESA EVANGELICA METODISTA
Located in the heart of Rome, just steps from Via Nazionale and Porta Pia, the beautiful Chiesa Evangelica Metodista serves as both a church and a concert hall. Built in 1895, the exterior of the building features a sixteenth‐century style, with ashlar walls, high pilasters on each floor, and mullioned windows on the ground level. The entrance portal, adorned with a gate, overlooks Via XX Settembre and is crowned with a tympanum supported by columns.
Inside the church, you will find a rectangular plan with a horseshoe‐shaped women's gallery and a ceiling adorned with circular motifs set within panels. Corinthian style lateral pilasters, resting on a high base, punctuate the space, along with round mullioned windows. The pipe organ, constructed by Carlo Vegezzi‐Bossi in 1895 and electrified in 1980, boasts 13 registers on two manuals and pedal.
In 1924, Paolo Paschetto adorned the church walls with stunning internal windows, featuring themes and symbols from the Christian iconographic tradition. The Christogram, the dove, the lily, the lamb, the lamp, the palm, the peacock, and the ship are just a few examples. Additionally, the pulpit, constructed in 1930, adds to the visual splendor of this extraordinary venue.
