The Flying Dutchman: Deutsche Oper Berlin
About the Event
Experience Wagner's fantastic work about the fate of a cursed outsider, in a production by director and choreographer Christian Spuck.
Wagner based this, his first opera, on the story of a mysterious mariner, who is doomed to travel the ocean between life and death until the love of a woman releases him. The opera occupies a world of dream images, obsessions, and projections divorced from reality.
Sung in German, with German and English surtitles.
