Teatro Filarmonico di Verona: Beethoven Pastorale
Verona, Teatro Filarmonico — main
About the Event
Experience an unforgettable evening of classical music at Verona's esteemed Teatro Filarmonico, featuring compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven and Frederic Chopin. This concert showcases two emerging stars on the international stage: conductor Giuseppe Mengoli, a celebrated winner of the 2023 Mahler Prize, leads the Arena Foundation Orchestra through a carefully curated classic repertoire. Audiences will be treated to Beethoven’s admired “Pastoral” Symphony, described by the composer as “more [an] expression of feeling than painting of sounds,” and also well‐known from the animated classic Fantasia. Preceding this, Chopin's First Piano Concerto, a passionate testament to his Polish roots and virtuosic piano skills, will be performed.
Taking center stage on piano is the young virtuoso Arsenii Moon from St. Petersburg, born in 1999. Moon has already made significant waves in the music world, being the recipient of the prestigious 2023 Busoni Piano Prize and the Michelangeli Prize.
