Staatskapelle Weimar
Berlin, Philharmonie Berlin — Grosser Saal
About the Event
In March, the young British pianist Isata Kanneh‐Mason brings Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto to life with her sensitive playing. She is one of the famous and almost legendary Kanneh‐Mason siblings, “whose musicality is overwhelming” (Süddeutsche Zeitung).
International venues are eager to have Isata Kanneh‐Mason as a soloist and chamber musician, as the artist offers a truly varied and interesting repertoire with programs that include music from Haydn and Mozart to Fanny Mendelssohn and Clara Schumann, Chopin and Brahms to Gershwin and beyond. She is the recipient of the coveted Leonard Bernstein Award, an Opus Klassik as best young artist and can call herself one of the “Junge Wilde” artists of the Konzerthaus Dortmund.
In Berlin, the sought‐after pianist will be accompanied by the Staatskapelle Weimar, one of the oldest orchestras in the world, whose roots go back over 500 years. The traditional orchestra, conducted by Marko Letonja, will bring the evening to a lively close with Mendelssohn's popular “Italian”.
