Julia Fischer performs worldwide with some of the most famous orchestras in the world, such as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Born in 1983 in Munich, she was a student of the renowned violinist Ana Chumachenco. Since 2006, Fisher has been Germany's youngest professor at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. In 2005 she won the German 'ECHO' Award for her recording of 'Russian Concertos' by Khatchaturian, Prokofiev, and Glazunov. In the winter of 2006, Julia Fischer was named the 'Best Newcomer of the Year' by BBC Music Magazine.
