Richard Wagner: Siegfried
Dresden, Kulturpalast — Main Hall
About the Event
What began in 2023 with the concert performance of Das Rheingold, continued in 2024 with Die Walküre and is now being continued with the development of Siegfried can be considered a benchmark for Wagner interpretation. The Wagner Cycles project is dedicated to Richard Wagner's monumental tetralogy of operas, combining scholarship and practice in a unique way. In Dresden, as well as on tours through the European music centers, the result of this spectacular sound workshop and the historically informed view of Wagner's epochal musical theater work were celebrated as revolutionary. In the third part of the “Ring”, “Siegfried”, images of nature and the vivid portrayal of plot elements show Wagner at the height of his tonal‐pictorial expressiveness. The newly acquired transparent orchestral sound and the focus on the linguistic expression of the singers will also ensure novel listening experiences in 2025.
