The Church of the Mother of God before Týn in Prague's Old Town, called the Týn Church, it is the most important sacred structures on the East bank of the Vltava River. It received its name from an otýněný (walled) space called the Týn Court, to which it is adjacent. Built from the middle of the fourteenth century through the first decades of the sixteenth century, it is one of the most important churches in Prague artistically both for its architecture and for its preserved interior furnishings. Its western facade, towards the square, is one of the best‐known landmarks of Prague.
