About the Event
Experience a unique classical music performance of Johannes Brahms' masterpieces at Budapest's impressive Palace of Arts (Müpa). This event can be seen as a Brahms Academy, starting with the delightful Academic Festival Overture, a composition expressing his gratitude for an honorary doctorate. Following this, conductor Gábor Takács‐Nagy will present the final orchestral work by Brahms, the Double Concerto in A minor, featuring renowned soloists Anthony Marwood and Miklós Perényi. Concluding the program is the Third Symphony, described by Hans Richter as Brahms' heroic symphony. Joachim praised the finale as a beautiful and expiatory apotheosis.
