About the Event
Tianyi Lu leads the Orchestra della Toscana in a concert featuring Arvo Pärt's 'Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten,' Richard Strauss's 'Burleske,' and Brahms' first serenade.
Four years after winning prestigious competitions, Tianyi Lu is now a highly sought‐after conductor. Born in Shanghai and raised in New Zealand, she brings a unique perspective to the podium.
Joining Lu for this performance is pianist Roberto Cominati, an acclaimed virtuoso known for his skill and sensitivity. In Strauss's 'Burleske,' Cominati's precision is showcased as he engages with the orchestral brilliance. Lu expertly balances this piece with Pärt's elegy and Brahms' youthful masterpiece.
In 'Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten,' Pärt pays homage to Britten, while Brahms' Serenade Op.11 reflects a young composer's dreams and the anticipation of his future.
