About the Event

A world premiere performance brings together theater, dance, live music, opera, and contemporary circus to celebrate the legacy of Giacomo Puccini through iconic female characters from his operas. Puccini Dance Circus Opera is a unique project featuring eleven women, a string trio, an electronic musician, and a conductor, along with a 45‐piece orchestra, highlighting five female icons from Puccini's operas: Manon Lescaut, La Bohème, Tosca, Madame Butterfly, and Turandot.

Originally staged at the Caracalla Festival in a reduced version, the performance now debuts in ORT's season in its full orchestral version, with specially arranged music by Francesco Oliveto and the Orchestra della Toscana conducted by Gianna Fratta. This world premiere event showcases the interaction and intertwining of different art forms on stage, marking the centenary of Puccini's death and honoring his lasting impact as one of the greatest composers of all time.
