The evening's centerpiece is Pëtr Il'ič Čajkovskij's Violin Concerto Op.35, a composition known for its melodic richness, brilliant orchestration, and intense lyricism. Premiered in 1881 by Adolf Brodsky, the concerto faced harsh criticism, particularly from the renowned critic Eduard Hanslick. Canadian violinist Kerson Leong, hailed as one of the greatest violinists, tackles the challenging concerto with finesse.
