Experience a unique musical feast that combines tradition and modernity in a fascinating way. In our extraordinary concert series, the chamber music piano works of W.A. Mozart are presented alternately on a historically authentic fortepiano and on a modern concert grand. A special highlight awaits you on the first and last evening: various works will be played on both instruments one after the other so that you can experience the differences and subtleties in the sound up close. This juxtaposition allows you to experience the tonal nuances and emotional depth of the compositions in a completely new way. The renowned pianists Christine Schornsheim and Markus Bellheim will perform together. At each of the other four concerts, you will be immersed in a different sound world: sometimes on the historical fortepiano, sometimes on the modern instrument, making each performance an individual sound experience.

The ODEON concerts rediscover ostracized composers. The concert series thus stands for “getting to know and respect”. In the 2024/25 concert season, we are presenting Wolfgang Jacobi (1894‐1972), a composer who wrote works such as “Der Menschenmaulwurf” (1932) for the workers' choir movement. He was banned from working and performing by the National Socialists from 1933 to 1945, as he was classified as a “half‐Jew” due to his Jewish father. Jacobi initially sought refuge with his wife and children in Malcesine on Lake Garda, but the foreign exchange ban forced the family to return to Germany in the winter of 1935. Completely isolated in Munich, they waited for the end of the Nazi terror. After the end of the war, Jacobi was offered a teaching position at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.
