About the Event

As soon as the red light went out behind the last shot of the Rachmaninov set with Lukas Vondráček, it was clear what would happen next. The Johannes Brahms set. A little shorter, but no less intense in terms of intensity, expression and depth. After February's Concerto No. 1, we will perform the second one in June 2025. But the programme will also include the aforementioned Rachmaninov, but this time purely orchestral. For his last subscription programme as chief conductor, Tomáš Brauner has chosen his Symphonic Dances. It is no coincidence that this is Rachmaninov's last great work, where all his musical, and therefore also life, themes meet.

Program

  • Johannes Brahms – Piano Concerto No. 2 in B‐flat major, op. 83
  • Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff – Symphonic Dances, Op. 45
Program is subject to change
