Ludmila Berlinskaïa & Arthur Ancelle: Théâtre des Champs‐Elysées
Paris, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées — Main Hall
About the Event
For its 5th edition, the Rungis Piano‐Piano Festival offers an exceptional off‐site concert, featuring two magnificent double concertos from the German Romantic period.
Felix Mendelssohn's 2nd double concerto was, like the 1st, composed at the age of 13 (!) by the prodigy to play with his sister Fanny: an incredibly virtuosic and exciting concerto. Bruch's double concerto op. 88a, composed… 88 years after Mendelssohn's, embraces the whole of German Romanticism in a monumental work with unforgettable themes. It is performed here by the Berlinskaya — Ancelle Duo, founder and artistic director of the festival, who have established themselves as one of the great duos of the 21st century Mendelssohn's concerto is performed by the laureates of the Piano‐Piano Academy, which trains and promotes young duos. They will be joined by the musical forces of the Orchestre National de Lille, conducted by Dmitri Liss.
