Les Musiciens du Louvre, Marc Minkowski: Great Performers at Bologna Festival
About the Event
Founded in 1982 by Marc Minkowski, the Musiciens du Louvre orchestra based its identity on French, English and 'Italian' opera of the seventeenth/eighteenth century performed on 'period instruments.' But increasingly, under the enlightened leadership of its founder, it is moving into the instrumental music of the second eighteenth century (Haydn and Mozart). A confirmation comes from the program chosen for this concert, which puts in strict chronological sequence the three masterpieces that close the human and stylistic parabola of Mozart's Symphonies.
