La Grande affabulation: Opéra Comique
Paris, Opéra Comique — Salle Favart
About the Event
In a modern‐day urban legend, children embark on a secret adventure, taking with them food, costumes, and music as they become the heroes of their own stories. The grand musical confabulation recounts their maiden voyage, filled with songs and tales.
For the students of the Opéra‐Comique’s Maîtrise Populaire, aged 12 to 23, Geoffroy Jourdain and Benjamin Lazar have crafted a vibrant show that blends early opera with parades and festivals. These young singers are guided by mentors in the baroque repertoire, where poetry, music, dance, and song come together in harmonious union.
Throughout their journey, the students explore different musical genres from various time periods, adding depth to their mysterious quest. Geoffroy Jourdain and Benjamin Lazar's artistic design guides them as they traverse eras and styles in search of musical enlightenment.
