Explore the beauty of sacred music at the Residenz in Munich, where the masterwork from Bach comes to life in this incredible performance.
For decades, the Munich Bach Concerts, together with the Bach Collegium Munich, have guaranteed performances of the great Bach oratorios in Munich. During this time, renowned amateur choirs such as the Mainz Bach Choir, the Chorgemeinschaft Neubeuern and the Munich Bach Choir have taken part in the performances and have been guests of the orchestra.
The internationally renowned Bach Collegium München is now breaking new ground and, from the 2019/2020 concert season, has established a professional choir of highly talented vocal students as part of a cooperation with the three Bavarian music academies in Munich, Nuremberg and Würzburg and will now perform the sacred music of the Thomaskantor and other composers as the Bach Collegium München choir and orchestra. Internationally renowned Bach specialists such as Ruben Dubrovsky, Dominik Beykirch and Christian Kabitz have conducted the works to date.
The establishment of the choir was made possible by patron Johannes Burger †. After his death, the Bach Collegium München continues to be supported by the Münchener Konzertverein e.V. and loyal patrons. By providing a public platform, this fulfills an outstanding achievement in the field of promoting highly talented musicians.
