Jan Michiels: The Ancient and the New at Bologna Festival
About the Event
In this highly‐anticipated concert, hear classical music at Bologna's atmospheric Oratorio di San Filippo Neri.
Jan Michiels, a 57‐year‐old Belgian pianist who established himself on the music scene with his victory in the 1991 Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, is a fine interpreter of thought, immersed in his time, a creator of poetic correspondences. A faithful picture of this is the program of this concert, which weaves together, following Carlo Rovelli's reflections on time, Chopin's and Debussy's Preludes, Ligeti's Etudes and the Stanze by Italian composer and poet Osvaldo Coluccino.
