Il Parlatore eterno | Il Tabarro at Teatro Filarmonico di Verona
About the Event
Experience outstanding musicians performing masterworks by Puccini and Ponchielli in the unique atmosphere of the Teatro Filarmonico.
Successfully streamed in 2021, the fifth event of the 2023 Opera Season finally brings audiences into attendance for the diptych that juxtaposes Il parlatore eterno, Amilcare Ponchielli's comic and unpublished gem, first performed at the Filarmonico precisely in 2021, with Giacomo Puccini's intense one‐act Il Tabarro, both productions staged by the Fondazione Arena di Verona.
The Eternal Speaker is directed by Arena's Stefano Trespidi, with sets by Filippo Tonon, costume coordination by Silvia Bonetti and lighting design by Paolo Mazzon. The title is juxtaposed with the penultimate of Puccini's operas, with direction by Paolo Gavazzeni and Piero Maranghi, sets by Leila Fteita, costumes by Silvia Bonetti and lighting by Paolo Mazzon.
On the podium of the Arenian Orchestra returns Gianna Fratta, a conductor already applauded in her Verona debut in the recent diptych dedicated to twentieth‐century theater.
