About the Event
Experience the breathtaking architecture of Leipzig's Gewandhaus zu Leipzig for a concert that will deepen your appreciation for classical music. Giorgia Leonardi and Emilio Barone will dance to Mahler/Schnittke, with choreography by Ermanno Sbezzo. The program includes Peter Tchaikovsky's "The Seasons" arranged for wind ensemble by Moshe Zorman in a world premiere commissioned by the Gewandhaus Orchestra, as well as Gustav Mahler/Alfred Schnittke's two movements for piano quartet arranged for piano and string orchestra by Omer Meir Wellber in a German premiere commissioned by the Gewandhaus Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. After the first part of the concert, there will be an intermission before Alexander Glazunov's ballet music from "The Seasons" op. 67.
