About the Event

A new and unusual look at the songs of the exceptional singer of the band Queen. Songs by one of the world's most popular rock singers have been arranged in a unique way for opera singers and a string quartet. In reference to the salon concerts of the nineteenth century, when classical music was considered popular music, the concerts take place in the most beautiful historical halls and palaces in Poland. Hence, in addition to works by Mercury, there will also be excerpts, music composed for aristocrats and kings by G. F. Handel. Due to Freddie's origins, there will also be traditional Indian music in an amazing arrangement for string quartet. Freddie Mercury was a star of his time like Farinelli in the 18th century. Exquisite halls and huge audiences united the two artists, despite the time difference. Mercury was fascinated by opera singing, as evidenced by his collaboration with opera singer Montserrat Caballé. Freddie's songs will resonate in exclusive interiors with incredible acoustics that create a concert atmosphere for a uniquely sophisticated audience. The concerts follow on from the Freddie Mercury Rock‐Opera project, which premiered in 2013 at the Słowacki Theatre in Krakow and has been performed on stages all over Europe and now, in a new form, is part of a European tour in 2025, in cities such as Berlin, Rome, Paris, Milan, Prague and Vienna. This time, the works of the Queens ensemble will be performed in an intimate, acoustic manner, as evidenced by innovative arrangements and an exceptional ensemble of musicians from the Italian association Opera da Camera di Roma. For the first time in Poland, an extraordinary concert with a unique experience worth savouring.
