Elena Bashkirova
Berlin, Philharmonie Berlin — Kammermusiksaal
About the Event
Pianist Elena Bashkirova is constantly in search of the “soul of music”. Her extensive activities as a soloist, ensemble musician, song accompanist and program designer follow this credo. The spirit of empathetic cooperation determines Bashkirova's attitude as a performer as well as a mediator of music.
Bashkirova, Daniel Barenboim's wife since 1988, comes from a Russian musical dynasty, was educated at the Moscow Conservatory and left the Soviet Union in 1978. Since then she has worked with many world‐famous orchestras and musicians. She is the founder and artistic director of the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival.
In her adopted home of Berlin, the dedicated artist can be heard in December in a piano recital dedicated to the oeuvre of Mozart, one of her favorite composers.
