Dresdner Musikfestspiele: Salut Salon
Dresden, Dresden State Operetta — Main Stage
About the Event
A delightful performance by Salut Salon, combining classical music with humor and charm. Two violins, a cello, a piano – no, this is not a classical quartet, but Salut Salon. For over twenty years, the four virtuosos have been delighting audiences worldwide with crazy tours de force between Vivaldi and vocal acrobatics, tango and crime drama, rap and Rachmaninoff. “Salut Salon is a passion that just has to come out,” says ensemble founder Angelika Bachmann. The current program “Heimat” (homeland) approaches this multi‐layered concept in the unmistakable Salut Salon manner and combines musically what the four musicians have collected on their travels. These are works by Mozart, Saint‐Saëns or Copland, songs from Finland, France, China and Egypt, unknown, famous, own compositions and, of course, as in each of their programs: Tango Nuevo by Astor Piazzolla. At the same time, this is the answer to the question they posed themselves about the definition of home: Salut Salon are at home in the world – and their home is music!
