Dresdner Musikfestspiele: Philharmonix
Dresden, Stromwerk — Kulturarena Kraftwerk Mitte
About the Event
An energetic and eclectic performance by Philharmonix, blending classical, jazz, film music, and pop. Founded by members of the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestras, Ensemble Philharmonix knows no musical boundaries and combines the art of music‐making at the highest level with top‐notch entertainment. Their trademarks are incomparable virtuosity and, above all, an unbridled joy in making music together, which immediately sparks the audience. Equally virtuosic is the stylistic range, which includes not only classical, jazz, folk, and pop, but also Latin. Not everything is classical music, but everything is of musical quality. In their brilliant arrangements, the musicians draw out original aspects of the compositions that have never been heard before. In keeping with this year's festival motto, their concert at the Stromwerk also features some famous “love songs,” such as the gorgeous Edith Piaf chanson “La vie en rose” or Sebastian Gürtler's “Laumas Kāzas.”
