Dresdner Musikfestspiele: Fatma Said & Friends
Dresden, Stromwerk — Kulturarena Kraftwerk Mitte
About the Event
An eclectic evening featuring soprano Fatma Said and an ensemble blending classical and jazz influences. “She is a master of her craft, and you have to experience how moving [in the truest sense of the word] she sings,” writes the music magazine Crescendo about Fatma Said. The Berlin‐based Egyptian soprano, who made her festival debut in the ‘Young Soloists’ series in 2019 and is now at home on the major international opera and concert stages, has for her Dresden concert this year, she has not only songs by Schumann, Schubert and Brahms but also an exquisite mix of vocal pieces from different periods and genres from her successful album “Kaleidoskop”. The exceptional singer, who will perform the New Year's Eve concert together with the Staatskapelle Dresden in 2024, will be accompanied by the young Dudok Quartet, named after a famous Dutch architect and music lover and originating from Amsterdam, and a high‐caliber musical circle of friends in the impressive ambience of the Stromwerk.
