Dresdner Musikfestspiele: Batiashvili — London Symphony Orchestra — Pappano
Dresden, Kulturpalast — Main Hall
About the Event
An enchanting evening of orchestral music awaits with violinist Lisa Batiashili accompanied by the London Symphony Orchestra, led by Sir Antonio Pappano. The illustrious London Symphony Orchestra along with its freshly appointed principal conductor, Sir Antonio Pappano, create an exceptional ensemble. Pappano, who was raised in the United States with Italian descent, first led the orchestra in an opera recording in 1996, an experience he recalls as stunning. He likened it to 'driving a Ferrari and stepping on the gas pedal'. The conductor and the LSO are set to showcase their vibrant musical prowess at the Kulturpalast, featuring Lisa Batiashvili in the concert’s first section, focusing on pieces by Mozart. The renowned and effervescent musician is ideally suited to interpret Mozart’s A major violin concerto, a piece celebrated for its divine melodies and intricate tones. Following this, the orchestra’s acclaimed, radiant sound will fully emerge in Berlioz’s epic, narrative symphony, narrating the turbulent love of an unnamed artist through five movements.
