About the Event
It is a joyous occasion – Princess Donna Clara’s 18th birthday! And out of all gifts that she has received, one stands out the most, a real life dwarf gifted to her by the Turkish Sultan. The misshapen man is charming and talented, blissfully unaware of his physical traits. He falls head over heel in love with the princess, but dies once discovers his physical appearance.
This performance is directed by Tobias Kratzer, who is known as one of the most interesting opera directors today. Der Zwerg is his debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
