Tulln an der Donau, Donaubühne Tulln
About the Event
Embrace the revival of the iconic “Three Tenors” concerts in 2025, featuring the tenor of the year 2024, Bogdan Volkov, alongside tenors Joseph Calleja and Arturo Chacón‐Cruz in an open‐air classical music event at the Donaubühne Tulln.
The iconic “Three Tenors” reemerge to commemorate 35 years of music history and celebrate Luciano Pavarotti's 90th birthday. On June 27, 2025, the Donaubühne Tulln becomes the stage for a magnificent anniversary concert, marking two major milestones in opera: the 35‐year legacy of the original “Three Tenors” – Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, and José Carreras – alongside Pavarotti's approaching 90th birthday in October 2025. Renowned tenors Bogdan Volkov, Joseph Calleja, and Arturo Chacón‐Cruz will breathe new life into the beloved classics of the “Three Tenors.” With commanding voices and distinct interpretations, they rejuvenate timeless arias like “Nessun Dorma,” “O sole mio,” “Ave Maria,” and “La donna è mobile.” With the Nibelungen Philharmonic Orchestra Austria, led by Michael Güttler, the evening promises to be filled with musical brilliance and emotion in the idyllic venue of Donaubühne Tulln.
Donaubühne Tulln
An ideal location for an enchanting evening of classical music: the Donaubühne Tulln lies directly along the Danube, nestled between the old railroad bridge and Nibelungenplatz, serving as a frequent open‐air stage for both international and national artists. Integral to the Nibelungenlied, the Wachau and the Danube play a crucial role from the Rhine to Hungary. Richard Wagner's opera cycle, “The Ring of the Nibelung,” draws inspiration from this epic tale. The unique ambiance and historical richness of Donaubühne Tulln create a perfect setting for the open‐air classical music event “Götterklang trifft Donaugold.”
