Find out why this quartet's performances of Bohemian music are so beloved.

Since 1976, the Pražák Quartet has been one of the most popular Czech quartets, especially for their performances of music by Bohemian composers, such as Dvořák and Janáček. At this concert, they play the first quartet from Dvořák's student, Josef Suk.

The Pražák's recording of the complete Beethoven quartets also received great acclaim, and they have selected the early quartet in D, op. 18/3 for this concert.

In between, Shostakovich's fourteenth quartet, dedicated to a cellist, and with a prominent part for that instrument.
