Gergiev, Trifonov & Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra: Shostakovich, Salle Pleyel

About the Event

As part of his Shostakovich cycle with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Gergiev has invited young prodigies as soloists. On this occasion, the venerated conductor shares with stage with 21‐year‐old Chopin Competition and Tchaikovsky Competition winner Daniil Trifonov and Russian trumpeter Timur Martynov.

The unusual concerto, for piano, trumpet, and strings, will be framed by the Fourth and Ninth Symphonies of Shostakovich, permitting us a chance to witness the total fusion between the Ossetian conductor and the musicians of the famed Mariinky Theater.
