Divertimento Vocale Berlin: Against Forgetting — Yiddish Music and Hits of the 30s and 40s
About the Event
Immerse yourself in the stunning architecture of Berlin's breathtaking French Cathedral for the ultimate concert set to awake your understanding of yiddish music.
Divertimento Vocale Berlin convinces immediately with its vocally balanced sound. With this musical evening in the French Cathedral, the young 8‐member vocal ensemble sets a sign against forgetting. A program that puts Jewish composers at the center. The octet has lovingly selected a mixture of hits and Yiddish songs from the 1930s and 40s, thus reviving an almost forgotten tradition of vocal art. Veronika Würfel & Antonia Biemer (soprano), Anja Trekel & Cäcilia Vormstein (alto), Patrick Orlich & Laurens Heise (tenor), Christoph Biemer (bass) & Lukas Schulze (bass) skillfully present beautiful, pure sounds that are rarely heard in the capital.
