Carmina Burana: styriarte 2011
About the Event
World‐class musicians perform Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana" in Graz.
Placing "O Fortuna" at the beginning of his score in 1937 certainly paid off for Carl Orff, and his interpretation of the Songs from Beuern found in the Benediktbeuern Abbey has enjoyed continuous popularity since its creation. Supposedly, not a day goes by that Orff’s Carmina Burana isn’t performed somewhere in the world. In Graz it will even be performed on two consecutive days right before the summer holidays as school children are the main players in this styriarte choir extravaganza. They will be accompanied by the orchestra recreation and an ensemble of renowned soloists.
