Be part of an historic endeavor, as Giovanni Antonini continues his quest to perform and record each of Haydn's 107 symphonies before the tercentenary of the composer's birth in 2032.

Leading the acclaimed Basel Chamber Orchestra, Antonini adds three symphonies to his total, matching the early ninth symphony with the strikingly original sixty‐seventh. Haydn's sixty‐fifth symphony has long been the subject of speculation to the effect that it may have been composed as incidental music for a play — possibly 'Hamlet'. No speculation regarding the nature of the piece is needed in relation to Mozart's incidental music for 'Thamos, King of Egypt', though the opera‐style score has outlasted the play it was written to accompany.
