Brahms & Bruckner
Rome, Auditorium Parco della Musica — Sala Santa Cecilia
About the Event
The sense of anticipation, metaphysical suspension, and ascent toward an elsewhere—perhaps the afterlife—are the defining elements of Bruckner’s final symphony, the Ninth, dedicated “to the good Lord.” These aspects shape a musical journey of spiritual reflection and contemplation on existence. It is no coincidence that Daniele Gatti pairs it with two deeply expressive choral works by Brahms, both meditations on the meaning of life: *Gesang der Parzen* (*Song of the Fates*) and *Schicksalslied* (*Song of Destiny*).
Program
- Johannes Brahms – Canto delle Parche
- Anton Bruckner – Sinfonia n. 9
- Johannes Brahms – Canto del Destino
